Great product at a great price

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: Relatively easy to install, instructions could have been more helpful. When installing, some of the planks didn't fully seat, tried to tap in with the palm of my hand (brutal to the hand), leaned about half way through the project to use a cut plank to insert then tap the plank to fully seated.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

BUY THIS FLOOR!

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: Bought this floor after considering many options (we have two dogs). What sold me was ease of installation, its good looks, the 50 year warranty and ease of cleaning. I bought this floor (600+ sq. ft.) from the guys in Holly Hill, FL. Great group over there. Brought the floor home and being a retired contractor who has put together hundreds of floors, I did a quick read on the instructions and started putting the floor together. After a row or two, I personally thought it a bit difficult to put together via the suggested method, so I called on my experience and decided to do it a different way.

Of the many floors I have put together over the years, quite a few were cheap 5-6 mm laminate floors purchased by customers. They usually leave a lot to be desired in the “click and lock” department. Not so with this floor. I did however find it easier to lock the ends together and insert a whole row at a time, using a tapping block to assist in seating the pieces together. This floor is heavy, strong vinyl and the ends lock tight and stay there. I had to butt this floor up to a Pergo laminate floor that was already in our kitchen and breakfast room. The living room is 22' x 17' and I was able to lay out the pieces for each row, lock the ends, make the cut for the last piece and then just slide along and lift each portion of the new row and insert the tongue into the groove of the previous row. I then used a tapping block made from a cut piece and was able to simply seat the row in when necessary, though the tongue usually fit quite nicely and did not require a tapping block all the time. This floor is super easy to cut. Simply score it with a utility knife and snap it off. I did not have one piece that didn't break perfectly on the score line. For lengthwise cuts, use a long straight edge, score it and snap it by hand. If the cut is too narrow to get a good grip, just grab a pair of pliers and bend it on the score line, following right down the piece and it works great.

It's a nice alternative to wood

By Greg speaks the truth

About Me:

Pros: Consistent Box To Box, Easy To Install, Looks Nice, Seems very durable

Cons: Can Become "unclicked"

Best Uses: Bedroom, Hallway, Home Office

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: The Good:(which by the way far outweighs the bad)

I recently installed this product in my home office ,large hallway and Den. This is my first experience with vinyl click together flooring and after you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to install. I can tell you that the floor itself is pretty much bullet proof (at least when it's new for sure), dropped a hammer off my ladder onto the new floor and no mark ,no scuff,no dent, nothing! The flooring looks really nice upon completion.

The not so Good or at least things to think about

1. Let's face it there is going to be a trade off for using a Vinyl product that is made to look like something else. I really don't think anybody is going to walk into my home and mistake this product for hardwood floors.

2. The finish on this product is sort of a satin type look, if your looking for something high gloss this isn't it. The floor looks very nice when it's very clean(as it should be anyway)

3. There will be some planks in your installation that just don't want to stay together, I think I read in the product documentation that anything below 5% is not considered defective. There will be some fine tuning after your installation , just count on it !

Over all this seems to be a great product, after reading some of the reviews here and other forums I'm somewhat skeptical of the 50 year warranty and what it actually covers and under what circumstances.. that being said this product installs easily and is easy to remove if it doesn't work out , certainly looks better , is cheaper and will last longer than carpet, kind of hard to go wrong !

Looks great in foyer and dining room

By Brian M.

from Springfield, IL

About Me:

Pros: Easy Installation, Excellent Value, Realistic looks

Cons: Can Become "unclicked"

Best Uses: Bedroom, Hallway, Home Office

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: The installation was easy, and the final product looks great. We are looking forward to the benefits of a water resistant floor.

The only negative I found with this floor is that there did not seem to be quite enough variety in the design and we had to be very careful during installation to make sure identical pieces were placed far enough apart to be inconspicuous.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

WOW!

By L&T Wilkerson

from Wichita, KS

About Me:

Pros: Durable, Easy to clean, Easy To Install, Waterproof

Cons: Can Become "unclicked"

Best Uses: Bathroom, Bedroom

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: I love the new floor! It is perfect for our bedroom bathroom combined space. It is wonderful that it is able to get wet without any problems because it's vinyl, and yet it looks like wood because it is planking. The only semi-issue we had with it is that we needed to pay close attention to the patterns so that we didn't duplicate a look nearby. Because the planks' patterns are mirrored, reversed, and cut differently; this wasn't too hard to overcome. There was a good variety in each box. The thickness was a plus as well.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Beautiful and practical

By Karen

from Falconhead, Ok

About Me:

Pros: Looks like real wood, Water Resistant

Cons: Oes Show Water Marks And, Shows Scuffs Water Mark, Shows Scuff Water Marks

Best Uses: Entire House But Bedrooms

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: Only have it less than a week but am thrilled with it. While it does show scuffs and water marks you have to really be picky and look for them and they wipe up with a damp paper towel. Does not scratch even with four dogs running around. So much better than the laminate we replaced which fell apart in less than a year. It was a little more expensive but so worth it. It is a hand scraped look and really looks like real hardwood. Puppy accidents sit on top and wipe right up with no penetration or damage. So far, so very good! We chose to have Lumber Liquidators install it and we couldn't have been happier with them. Professional, courteous, friendly, which is important when you are doing so much and they are with you for three days! My only comment is that while they did clean up their installation mess behind them it did not include them cleaning the floor and we would have liked that.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
