Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: This product is very thick, I used my table saw, miter saw & roto zip to cut where I needed to. My bathrooms look fantastic ! I purchased new toilets, so the flooring is under the toilet base...very clean & professional look ! ( and I did it all myself ).

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: These floors are absolutely beautiful. We have 3 dogs and regularly foster dogs and the floors stand up to all of that. They clean up so easily even with water/snow/rain. Just sweep and mop and they look good as new. Installation was a breeze as well.

Looks nice, but what a pain!

By saxxy27

About Me:

Pros: Inexpensive, looks nice

Cons: Difficult to Install

Best Uses: Bathroom, Dining Room, Hall, Kitchen, Living Room

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: This flooring, while lovely to look at once finished, is a gigantic pain in the butt (and knees!) to install. It clicks into place on one half of the tile and clicks out on the other half. You have to get the angle just right (about 45 degrees) to lock the edges. We eventually figured out that if you place full boxes along the line of flooring you just put down, it's easier to click the next row into place. All in all, it's taking three of us -- one person with a lot of flooring installation experience -- at least two full weekends to install this flooring in our living room and tiny kitchen, which are approximately 800 sq ft. There were some difficult cuts that held up our progress, but even just the straight runs are quite time consuming. Another issue we're facing is the transition to other flooring types. We have ceramic tile in front of our corner fire place. We have a compound miter saw, so the 45 degree end cuts are easy, but since this is vinyl flooring, it's a good bit lower than the tile. Although we installed edge-leveling transition strips, I think they look oddly out of place in that location (looks fine with the same transition strips positioned under the doors where the vinyl tile meets carpet in the bedrooms). We may pull the transition strips back up in favor of caulking where the vinyl tiles and ceramic tiles meet, but I'm not sure if that will work, either. If you have other flooring types that you plan to install this next to, you may want to consider an underlayment that will raise the height of these tiles.

I'm still giving it three stars because it does look pretty great now that we are almost finished, but I would not recommend this flooring type. Lumber Liquidators has a LOT of other affordable options that I would definitely consider over this. We actually planned to purchase wood-look tile, but the salesman talked us into this flooring instead because we were a little uncertain on the ceramic tile installation. I now regret it.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: It really was (almost) as easy to install as they said it would be. Having never installed flooring before I had a bit of a learning curve. But it turned out beautifully! Next time around I have no doubt the effort will go more quickly. My new hobby? Flooring installation...

About Me:

Pros: Inexpensive, looks nice

Cons: Difficult to Install

Best Uses: Bathroom, Dining Room, Hall, Kitchen, Living Room

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: I'm a 40 something female and I installed this floor myself. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. Not bad to cut. It looks fantastic! I have 2 dogs and they haven't scratched it up. I also moved the fridge and stove over it and it didn't scratch or gouge or anything. Looks like a real wood floor! Can't get better than that. I put it in my mudroom and kitchen in a 1920 farmhouse. Looks much like the original floors.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great product at a great price

About Me:

Pros: Inexpensive, looks nice

Cons: Difficult to Install

Best Uses: Bathroom, Dining Room, Hall, Kitchen, Living Room

Comments about Tranquility  5mm Golden Teak Click Resilient Vinyl Handscraped: Relatively easy to install, instructions could have been more helpful. When installing, some of the planks didn't fully seat, tried to tap in with the palm of my hand (brutal to the hand), leaned about half way through the project to use a cut plank to insert then tap the plank to fully seated.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Q: How waterproof is this flooring. We have a dog that sometimes pees on the floor and we do not find it for a week or so. Also have an infant that could spill liquids on their and it would sit until it dries up.
Asked on 2/27/2015 by boatenstaff from vegas

A: Vinyl is largely unaffected by moisture. Only major flooding can affect it's dimensional integrity. Urine however is a caustic and should be towel clean as soon as possible.
